The Ingersoll-Rand Energy Systems' PowerWorks microturbine CHP system has been verified by the GHG Center in partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) (Albany, NY). The technology is a 70 kW microturbine CHP firing natural gas. The testing site was a nursing home in Morrisville, New York where the unit supplied electricity to the site and grid, and hot water to the homes hot water system. The testing evaluated the emissions, electricity production, and power quality performance of this "distributed power" technology.
