Capstone 60 kW Microturbine CHP

Capstone Turbine Corporation's 60kW microturbine combined heat and power (CHP) system has been verified by the GHG Center in partnership with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) (Albany, NY). The technology was tested at a supermarket in Hauppage, New York. Electricity produced by the unit was used by the store and heat recovered was used in a desiccant drying system integrated into the stores HVAC system. The GHG Center has completed testing of emissions, electricity production, and power quality performance of this "distributed power" technology.
